UGC brand pitch templates that get replies

Copy-paste templates are why most pitches get ignored. Below is the framework that actually works, the exact structure, real subject lines, and three templates you can adapt, plus the follow-ups that land most of the deals.

What is a brand pitch?

A brand pitch is a short outreach message, usually an email or a DM, in which a creator proposes making content for a brand in exchange for payment. An effective brand pitch is not a request for work: it identifies a specific gap in the brand's marketing, proposes a concrete content idea to fill it, offers brief proof the creator can deliver, and invites a conversation about rates. The most common reason pitches fail is that they are written about the creator rather than about the brand's problem.

The 10-sentence structure

  1. 1

How you found them + one specific compliment

Name the actual product. 'I found you through your Barrier Serum launch' beats 'I love your brand'.

  2. 2

    The gap you noticed

The heart of the pitch. What are competitors doing that they aren't? This proves real research.

  3. 3

    One line of credibility

Real numbers or named brands. One line. Nobody hires you because of your life story.

  4. 4

    A specific content concept

Describe the actual video: the hook, the format, the platform, the beats. Make them see it.

  5. 5

    A timely reason

A launch, a season, a campaign window. Timeliness is why they act now instead of later.

  6. 6

    A soft call to action

Invite the conversation: 'Let me know who's best to speak with about this.' Never name a price first.

Three brand pitch templates

Adapt these, don't send them as-is. Everything in brackets must be replaced with something specific and true, or the pitch reads exactly like the mass-sent emails brands delete.

1. The competitor gap (highest reply rate)

Subject

Content ideas for [Brand]

Body

Hi [Name],

I came across [Brand] while looking for [category] and ended up buying the [exact product], [one specific, true detail about using it].

One thing I noticed: [competitor] and [competitor] are both running creator-led video across their paid social, while [Brand]'s creative is still mostly [studio shots / product stills]. That feels like an easy gap to test.

I make UGC for [niche] brands, most recently [brand] and [brand], where [one concrete result].

The concept I'd start with: a [15-second TikTok] opening on [the specific hook], then [beat two], ending on [the payoff]. It's built to work as a paid ad, not just an organic post.

Worth a conversation? Happy to talk rates whenever suits.

2. The genuine customer

Subject

I used your [product] last week and had to email you

Body

Hi [Name],

I've been using [exact product] for [timeframe] and [specific, honest result]. I don't email brands often, but this one earned it.

I noticed you're not running much [video / creator content] on [platform], which surprised me given how well [specific thing they do well] would translate there.

I'm a UGC creator in the [niche] space, [one credibility line with real numbers].

I'd film [specific concept: the hook, the format, the payoff]. Real customer, real result, shot to look native to the feed.

Who's the best person to talk to about this?

[First name]
3. The seasonal angle

Subject

[Season] content for [Brand]

Body

Hi [Name],

[Brand]'s [product] keeps showing up in my [season] rotation, especially [specific use case].

Most brands lock their [Black Friday / holiday / summer] creative [6-8 weeks] out, and that window's opening now. Between ads, organic and email you'll likely need several times your usual volume.

I'm a UGC creator for [niche] brands, [credibility line]. I've built [season] content for [brand], where [result].

I'd start with [specific concept tied to the season]: [the hook], then [the beat], ending on [the payoff].

If you're planning [season] creative, happy to talk rates.

[First name]

Subject lines that get opened

Casual and specific beats excited and salesy. Emojis and hype read as promotional and get filtered. Keep it under 60 characters, and never invent a fact to make one work.

The follow-ups that land the deal

Most creators who land deals say the reply came from the follow-up, not the first email. Send two, and never write "just checking in" with nothing new to say.

Day 2 – 3

"I figured I didn't catch you at the right time, I know you'd have replied if you'd seen it, so I wanted to make sure this didn't get buried."

Day 7

Add something new, a second concept, or a result from a similar brand, then give an easy out: "If creator content isn't a priority this quarter, no problem, just let me know and I'll stop bugging you."

Brand pitching FAQ

What should a brand pitch email include?
Six things, in about ten sentences: how you found the brand plus one specific compliment, the gap you noticed in their marketing, one line of credibility with real numbers, a specific content concept described visually, a timely or seasonal reason to act now, and a soft call to action inviting a conversation about rates. Anything longer gets skimmed and deleted.
How long should a pitch email to a brand be?
Under about 150 words, or roughly 10 sentences. Brand marketing managers receive dozens of pitches a week and read them on a phone between meetings. A short pitch with one sharp insight beats a long pitch that lists everything you can do.
Should I attach my media kit to a pitch email?
Don't attach a PDF, link to a live media kit instead. Attachments trigger spam filters, get stripped by corporate email systems, and go stale the moment you export them. A live link also lets you see that the brand opened it and keeps your stats current.
What's the best time to send a brand pitch?
Tuesday to Thursday mornings in the brand's timezone perform best, and pitching 6 to 10 weeks before a season or launch is far more effective than pitching during it. Brands plan holiday content in September and October, so a Q4 pitch sent in November is already too late.
How many brands should I pitch to get one deal?
Expect a reply rate in the low double digits when pitches are personalised and much lower when they're copy-pasted, so most creators pitch 20 to 50 brands to land their first paid deal. Consistency matters more than volume: 10 well-researched pitches a week beats 100 generic ones.
Do I need followers to pitch brands for UGC?
No. UGC means the brand uses your content in their own ads and channels, so they're buying content quality and conversion ability, not your audience. Many paid UGC creators have under 1,000 followers. What you do need is a portfolio showing you can make content that sells.
